Whilst it’s all very well preaching about being environmentally friendly, as we try to constantly make improvements, it’s work in progress for us. But we love a challenge!

This effort doesn’t stop at which ingredients in our skincare products – it’s the other essential stuff behind the scenes too; stationary, packaging, delivery and other bits and bobs, all of which help to keep our company ticking and contribute towards trying to reduce our carbon footprint. For example, we use biodegradable consumables in our treatment rooms and our energy supplier is 100% renewable.

We used recycled and reclaimed building materials where possible, all in the name of sweet sustainability. It’s pleasing on the eye too – our 1930’s doors came from a reclaimer’s yard in the Midlands and look pretty darn dashing, if we may say so. We never thought we’d say that about a door but hey, it’s the Pfeffer Sal effect.

In fact, we’re never not thinking about how we can improve or reuse things – even the used charcoal from our filtered drinking water make handy shoe refreshers for our team.

Paper, packaging materials and boxes: for Pfeffer Sal they’re a bit like clothing (bear with...). You require it daily – usually - but you don’t want it to have come from an unethical source or to have compromised the world we live in. That’s why we work with suppliers who are committed to finding ways to be kinder to the planet. Deforestation? No thanks. Recyclable? Every last bit of it, actually. Even the adhesive on the courier labels, even the glue. Yup, recyclable glue - get into it.

Just plonk it all (yes, all) into the recycling bin and it’ll be good to go again and again. Even our printers are massively planet-aware and are with the World Land Trust, an international conservation charity, which means that any orders we make will be produced in an environmentally friendly way.
