How to Rejuvenate Your Skin

Rejuvenation is the process of renewing and restoring your skin. As we nudge into our 30’s and beyond, our cellular regeneration and collagen production can no longer keep up with us. This is when signs of a life well lived start emerge. Skin can appear lacklustre, tired, and with a little less bounce. Small lines and wrinkles may also start to show. They are purely a response to what your skin has encountered over the years.

Method of self diagnosis

Not sure if you’re in need of some rejuvenation? You can find out by performing a mini skin analysis at home.

Touch - Squeeze or pinch the skin does it feel loose, or thick and lifted?

Look - Have more lines appeared over the last few weeks around the eyes or forehead? Do they remain even when your face is expressionless? Does your skin look more lacklustre with less glow?

Feel – does the skin feel dry, thin and more fragile than it used to?

Or book in for a skin consultation with one of our therapists.

What can I do?

De-stress. When we are stressed, our body releases a hormone called cortisol which over time can destroy collagen. Ensure you incorporate de-stressing moments into your daily routine. A candle lit bath, boxing class, or even 5 minutes of mindfulness will help to keep cortisol levels low.

Boost your circulation. Our blood is filled with essential nutrients that our skin needs to thrive. Massage your skin daily to get the blood flowing. Use gentle tapping, pinching and lifting movements (you can incorporate these moves into your cleansing practise) to bring blood to the surface, reduce water retention and give your skin a glow from within. Over time, regular facial massage has been shown to boost collagen production too.

Start lifting. Heavy weightlifting has so many benefits. It increases the production of the human growth hormone stimulating collagen production, boosts circulation, and reduces stress levels too.

How can treatments help?

We’re not here to freeze or fill in what life has left behind. In fact, we think it’s all about embracing your own unique beautiful skin and optimising, not altering, your individual beauty. That’s what our treatments do.

Our favourite treatments for rejuvenating are:

Ultra Synergy – the perfect treatment for those just beginning their rejuvenation journey, gentle microneedling establishes a pathway for the potent cocktail your therapist has personalised for you, that will plump, firm and refresh your face. Consult with your therapist if you would like to advance onto deeper medical needling at a later date for even more dramatic results.

Forever You – ClearLift laser penetrates the dermis in a controlled way, resulting in the growth of new collagen, as well as tightening the skin, reducing the appearance of enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles and improving skin tone and texture for a plump and youthful appearance. Near Infrared instantly lifting and sculpting, as well as enhancing your skin’s natural radiance. Particularity effective for the neck and jawline area, it also boosts collagen production and supports the skin structure for a longer-term improvement in skin texture and tone.

Renew You - harnesses the power of the iPixel laser. It creates tiny channels which triggers the body’s natural healing process, stimulating the growth of new tissue. The pixel’s precisely treats small zones of skin, leaving the surrounding tissue untouched and intact.

These large unaffected areas act as a reservoir for more effective and rapid healing and collagen production.  This is a fantastic treatment for those looking for advanced skin rejuvenation.

What products support improvement?

To assist you in your rejuvenation journey, look for products that contain collagen stimulating ingredients. Vitamin A or retinols are fantastic at stimulating collagen production as well as improving overall skin texture for a smoother, plumper appearance. For retinol rookies, Synergie Ultimate A and Brad Sublime Radiance Concentrate both contain encapsulated retinol that won’t irritate the skin. If you are a retinol regular, ZENii Advanced Retinol Complex is a 1% retinol that will supercharge results.

Invest in nutrient rich formulations as your skin will need a little more support and nourishment than it used to. Brad Ultra Elastin is a facial in a jar and feeds your skin with essential fatty acids, gently exfoliators as well as ingredients to boost collagen and elastin production. Growth factor serums are also fantastic as they instruct your skin to rebuild and repair. Shinso Essence contains a good hit of growth factors alongside potent antioxidants and nourishing botanical extracts to protect your skin from further stressors.

Treat your skin to a nourishing oil too. As we mature, our skin loses its natural oils and this can leave it looking and feeling tired and rough. Vintner’s Daughter is the oil to end all oils and the perfect blend of 22 botanical extracts that oxygenate, repair, and feed your skin. Don’t forget to massage it in for an extra boost of circulation and collagen stimulation.
