How does the Absolutely Flawless treatment work?

Our Absolutely flawless is our ultimate advanced acne treatment here at the clinic. It combines cutting-edge technology, high-performance actives, and an expert touch of one of our therapists to banish the blemish from every angle. After a thorough cleanse, we use the ClearSkin laser to target p.acnes bacteria and sebum production. We then deeply exfoliate the skin, perform extractions in a sterile environment and with a lance to ensure minimal disturbance to the skin’s surface before applying a decongesting mask and LED to reduce inflammation, kill bacteria, and aid healing.

What is ClearSkin Laser?

The ClearSkin laser is a non-ablative laser which basically means it delivers a precise wavelength of light into the deeper layers of the skin and doesn’t affect the epidermis. This also means it is able to target breakouts that have not surfaced such as cysts, papules, and nodules. The ClearSkin laser causes a photothermal reaction, heating up the skin to a temperature that the p.acnes bacteria cannot survive. This reduced population of p.acnes bacteria reduces breakouts in the skin. It also has a mild rejuvenating effect, diminishing the appearance of acne scarring by stimulating collagen production. Over time, the effect of the laser accumulates and the p.acnes bacteria reduce to such a level that they do not cause as many breakouts.

Is it suitable for all skin types?

The clear skin laser can be used on all skin types including darker skin types. We recommend preparing for this treatment by using a tyrosinase inhibiting product such as this one to reduce the melanin activity prior to the treatment. This will reduce the chances of post-inflammatory pigmentation. Speak to your therapist for more info.

Who is this treatment best for?

This treatment is best for those experiencing breakouts and congestion and can be used on mild to moderate acne and some cases of more severe acne. It targets:

  • Blemishes (such as blackheads, whiteheads, cysts, pastules, nodules, closed comedones)
  • Enlarged pores
  • Redness
  • Oiliness
  • Rough skin

Does it hurt?

The ClearSkin laser has a cooling head so any heat the laser creates is quickly reduced. You might feel some pressure during the extraction process but otherwise it’s a comfortable facial.

What is the downtime like?

The downtime depends on how your skin responds. If you’ve had extractions, there may be some areas that are inflamed but they should subside over the next few days. Otherwise, the skin should look and feel calmer as you continue treatment.

Anything I need to know before starting this treatment?

You’ll need to be patch tested at least 48 hours before commencing the treatment. This ensures we are using the right modality of the laser as well as checking for any adverse reactions. This is £50 and redeemable on future treatments.

If you are booking in the treatment to target acne, it’s important that you’re taking an inside out approach. Acne is predominantly caused by internal imbalances such as gut health and hormonal changes so take note of any triggers and try to target this at the same time if you can. That way, we are taking a multi-pronged approach which should result in better, longer-lasting results.

How many treatments do I need to have?

We recommend beginning with a course of 4-6 treatments ideally spaced 2 weeks apart. This is because the laser has an accumulative effect and by spacing the treatments closer together, we can build on these results. ReadNaoko's acne skin journey to learn more about the results!
